Mixed Media
These mixed media drawings and paintings
reflect my exploration of the way in which emotions and encounters
are perceived through memory in the subconscious. In these works,
I also explore the metamorphosis that objects, places, and living
creatures can undergo through time. For example, I use distressed
cloth, fibers, and materials from nature, such as bark and leaves,
to evoke a sense of the disintegration of matter. The inks and
paints are water-based, including naturally derived walnut ink,
gouache, and watercolors.
Using shapes that can suggest a narrative,
I work to demonstrate a dynamic exchange or an animated interplay.
